Veli Lošinj is a small town in Mali Losinj and is second largest in Losinj. It is located on the southern part of the island of Losinj, next to the two neighboring coves, in the northern foothills of the Calvary Hill. Veli Lošinj is facing the sea from the north. It is interesting to note that once Veli Lošinj (Veli Lošinj) was larger than Mali Lošinj (Mali Village), but Mali Lošinj has evolved more rapidly throughout history, and today the situation is reversed, but the names have remained to this day. In the narrow streets of Veli Losinj, through the "portunes" you can see the luxurious villas of former captains, shipowners and wealthy gentlemen. In the gardens of these villas, there are 80 different types of plants, while in the park of Velology, in front of today's health resort, and the former residence of Carla Stjepana, there are more than 200 botanical species. In the vicinity of Veli Lošinj there is a small fishing port Rovenska, with its beautiful beach, fishing atmosphere, the tradition of people who have dedicated their life to the sea and direct contact with nature.
